  • AQRA Heart Award

    Next month we have our ICQR3.0 on April 24-26. Please continue planning in order to join hundreds of other AQRA family members as we all learn how to “hone the craft” of qualitative research in Subic Bay.

    One of the most important activities AQRA takes pleasure in doing is to recognize people who have phenomenally touched other people’s lives through the awarding of the special AQRA Heart Award.

    You can now apply. The deadline is at the end of this month. Please follow the attached guidelines very carefully before you submit your entry. Blessings!

     

  • Membership Renewal Notice

    It’s time for membership renewal for many of you (or to become an official member of AQRA for new ones).

    To renew (or become an official member of AQRA),

    (a) read the AQRA Membership Form carefully and then fill it,

    (b) scan/take a picture of it,

    At that point,

    (d) make your payment,

    (e) scan/take a picture of the deposit slip and

    (f) send it to us using the same email address.

    Once we receive that payment evidence, we will issue you your electronic membership certificate within 7 business days.

  • Traveling to Subic Bay

    There are many options to travel to Subic Bay. If you are flying, you have 2 options.

    Option 1: Book your flight to Clark International Airport, which is the closest airport to Subic Bay. However, direct flights to Clark are limited in number. From there, you can take a taxi straight to Subic Bay (especially if you are a group), or you can take a jeepney that will take you to Dau and from there you take the bus to Subic Bay (much cheaper).

    Option 2: fly to Manila International Airport. From there, take a short taxi ride to Victory Liner Bus Terminal in Pasay, which goes to Subic Bay (Olongapo).

    For those coming from the CALABARZON area, simply go to Pasay or Cubao and get on the Victory Liner Bus.

    For those coming from Cavite, find the terminal of the Saulog Bus as it has regular trips to Subic Bay from Cavite.

    From the North, you know your way to Subic Bay. For those who are flying, it’s for your own advantage to book early for better fares.

Since I was asked to give a testimony on AQRA, let me put it in a testimonial way. Before, I was an unconverted researcher, who did not know the truth about qualitative inquiry. But one day I heard a voice.

It was the voice of Dr. Safary who was giving a seminar. He would mention mysterious words like, trustworthiness, dependability, generalization, triangulation etc. They all sounded meaningless to me.

To cut the story short, after I encountered the great missionaries of qualitative research such as Drs. Green, Dr. Rosario and others who taught me the truth about qualitative research, I got converted.

The memorable event was a big qualitative evangelistic meeting called First International Conference on Qualitative Research in Tagaytay, where I got 'baptized' as a qualitative researcher. Currently I am writing my dissertation employing QLR. When I finish, I will become a missionary spreading the good news about QLR among other researchers who are still in darkness.
